lit shiz...

Sunlight at Midnight, Darkness at Noon: The Cunningham/McCreesh Letters enters the editorial stage/design stage over at OA Press in August. the artist Nick Volkert has been tapped to do the cover illustration. we're very excited to get this bad boy underway, but in the meantime you should purchase the press' first offering by Ben Tanzer, Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine upon its release and support indy publishers like OA.

Sean Lynch of Ireland's Ten Point Press has asked for a few poems for a new broadside project he's doing, and the short list of initial offerings is impressive, my presence notwithstanding: justin.barrett, Tony O'Neil, Hosho McCreesh and Brian McGettrick. these will be in an edition of 50 signed broads and will be available for purchase later in the year. I'm honored that Sean thought of me for the project.

UPDATE: the Tony O'Neil and Hosho McCreesh four of the five broadsides (missing only the McGettrick, which is coming soonest) are now available from Ten Point for pre-sale. click the link above and get your copy before they're gone. and they will get gone...

stay tuned...

the noot...

the Goofer Dust vinyl is imminent and the release show is too. this funky tribe is like Doctor John meets Fela Kuti meets a dancing 1970's robot meets Pluto meets thick shag carpet meets your old record player.

go read an interview with em H E R E.

live here? go see em. you will be changed. and if not, watch the skies for a peculiar glow coming from the Deep South; maybe it's coming your way...

get a bite...

or have a nibble.

I sent my subscription dough off today.

also, coming very soon will be my new KSE chap called In Gambler's Blood. it's due in August and cyn is taking the cover photo. it's a 'sound library' book informed by this music:

(plus other cuts from the same soundtrack) and will focus on poker players during a particular hand. I've played the game once or twice and hope to bring a freakish weird and strange perspective to one of my favorite things: dragging chips across felt. more info when available.

a plate of goodness...

purple peppers, pimento peppers, wild cherry and super sweet tomatoes, green zebra and peach tomatoes fresh from the garden:

makes one good salad.

I had to build the trellis for the tomato plants because they grew up to over six feet and are heavily laden. now there's also onions, parsley, basil, sage, three diff. melons, two kinds of hot peppers, broccoli, cukes, some squash... it's rewarding as hell, and I can't wait for the melons and cukes (I got behind a bit, but we got time here in the hot south). in a bit, when it cools off some I'm gonna put in lettuces...

next year lots of beans and potatoes also...
