a plate of goodness...

purple peppers, pimento peppers, wild cherry and super sweet tomatoes, green zebra and peach tomatoes fresh from the garden:

makes one good salad.

I had to build the trellis for the tomato plants because they grew up to over six feet and are heavily laden. now there's also onions, parsley, basil, sage, three diff. melons, two kinds of hot peppers, broccoli, cukes, some squash... it's rewarding as hell, and I can't wait for the melons and cukes (I got behind a bit, but we got time here in the hot south). in a bit, when it cools off some I'm gonna put in lettuces...

next year lots of beans and potatoes also...

jealous.

your growing season is like 11 months. we get 5 if the weather cooperates (which it didn't this year...we went from snow to 100 degrees in 2 weeks time).

looks good, man. we've some tomatoes coming in and the corn is getting really tall. cukes should be ready soon, carrots as well. beans are getting unruly and are beginning to show.

next year: tomatoes, swiss chard, spinach, carrots, cukes, zukes, beans, and peppers. we've not much room here, and not everything grows well.

we're also thinking of attempting potatoes. not sure we have the space.

awesome brother. yeah, we got a long time to grow here, that's for sure. I look forward to doing it in the mountains though next year...

carrots and zukes...gotta get those in next year too! good call.

we'll start a Ladies Recipe Circle for Tough Guy Poets using Local Ingredients.

Being a vegetarian, and a tough guy, I would like to join this circle, ladies.

Nice veggies, Cap'n.
