sunday night religion...

check it out, see what you think: atheism is the better christianity

I've always held that What's Right is beyond debate. there are some things a person does because to not do them would be Wrong. and vice versa.

it is why we question the answers here at the compound.

and why we have never particularly cared for labels.

do What's Right. it'll suffice.

good article.

i'm a devout atheist, but was originally raised as a Catholic. it was very early on that i realized the hypocrisy in religion (especially organized religion) and not much after that i realized the paradox of morality.

very good article. there was a rebuttal written by a Rabbi that clearly shows how weak the religionist's argument FOR god really is in the face of science, reason or logic.

good for good's sake is a simple code of ethics that WE ALL could learn to live by.

madness, I too was raised catholic and upon release from parental restrictions to the contrary around 13 or so immediately began my withdrawl from the ranks.

yes, even Hawking says that the closer you get to understanding the scientific fabric of the universe, down to the dark matter and quarks, etc., the closer you get to seeing 'the face of god.'

which as always, and in all religious texts, is metaphor for a deeper understanding of ourselves.
