sad.

he's our favorite "dirty" comedian here in the .barrett household.
we'd had the pleasure of seeing him live once here in Utah, which is a treat (especially when we started ripping into the prevailing culture...ho boy, that was fun).

his HBO comedy shows are brilliant.

he'll be missed.

I read that he was about to take a month off to rest and work on a new book of essays. That really struck me.

Just think what we missed out on, what the world missed out on...

More truths written down, more words.

for sure...i didn't heard that, but definitely sad.

his books are hilarious...great insights and short little "humor vignettes"...

his stand up routine though is just brilliant. i love the one about the differences between baseball and football...and my all time favorite is the invisible guy in the sky routine. he nails it!

George was wise enough to be
marketable.

He had a voice, but he knew how to
schmooze. I mean this in the most
respectful way possible.

The cliché of outsider is cloyingly
ridiculous, considering that some
wear it as a badge of having
arrived, when it really means they
have not been accepted on any terms
by anyone.

George Carlin saw clearly, and he
was able to carry that vision well.

He will be missed.

Thanks Cap'n.
