did i ever mention i have a beatles fetish...well, not a fetish, which implies a sexual thing...but i am totally enamored with them. their music and their lifestyle and how they just took over the world. right place, right time, right band.
yes yes, the beatles. I spent a long time in my youth ignoring them, thinking them overrated. but I wised up about a lot of shit. I understand them now, I get the whole thing, the connections they inspired, the magic of their song structures, the depth of their attempts at creation, and etc.
LET IT BE (Naked) is my favorite album followed closely by the big ones SGT PEPPER and WHITE ALBUM, but the whole catalogue is genius.
you can see a level of determination in their dogged pursuit of the concept of FURTHUR that is hard to match.
oh yeah, it's true. it's amazing to me that they tried so hard to (and succeeded in) pushing the bounds of music and STILL remained so popular. some of the songs sound as if they could be played today. as if they were just composed.
i like the whole catalogue, too. i've not gotten Let It Be (naked) yet....but i've plans to...heard some good things.
white album is my favorite, too, but i also like the Past Masters series.
