lit shiz...

just had a short story taken by Johnny America and it'll run next week sometime. I'll post a link when it appears.

got a nice check for poems in the mail. from Mendicant Bookworks. haven't heard of em? you will. artisan editions made with letterpress love and a little mysterioso energy from the cosmos. sometime 2008, I'd imagine. you can't rush magic. thanks for the dough...

also, congrats to my buddy and goddamn kick-your-teeth-in motherfucking great poet Hosho McCreesh, who is gonna destroy 2008 with chaps and books from such presses as Kendra Steiner Editions (go buy the new Luis Berriozabal chap NOW if you know what's good for you), Bottle of Smoke Press (go buy anything Bill Roberts makes; you will not be sorry), Hemispherical Press and I hear strong rumors he'll have a chap from one of the baddest of the entire Independent Press world, sunnyoutside (it's not easy to get poems past the careful, astute and well-read eye of David McNamara. and, ahem, there are still a few copies of Flowers left, if you've not yet snagged one. maybe for xmas, no?).

pay attention. you will hear the explosions in the distance once these monsters stomp the terra. you've been warned.

Does this mean, j.b, that you're thinking about writing again?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Congrats on getting the story in Johnny America. Each of the places you're publishing has a somewhat different audience, so you'll be winning new readers all over the place!!!
I predict that 2008 will be the best year yet for CC in terms of both the quality of the work AND the exposure for the work.

Best holiday wishes from south Texas!

thanks, big bill s. I appreciate the continued support. yeah, beware the new existential humanists and our strange but true tales of ordinary folks unable to live their own lives, stranded aliens in their living rooms and the trapped laughter of the damned.

and j.b, since our society has devolved into a state where all communication boils down to cliches and catch phrases (and I recommend slugging back a shot of whiskey each time you hear somebody, anybody, anywhere use one in conversation)(you will be dead in six to twelve hours): "bring it on." or if you prefer, "eat our dust." or, if you are more mookish, "booyah."

heh. etc.

booyah. i love it.

though, i'm afraid that particular cliche is copywritten and you can expect to be served a subpoena within the next 24-36 hours. tough luck.

H,
me write? nah....what the hell have i got to say that hasn't already been said? and better?

:)
