check it out...
this has been around a while, but he just released it as a little illustrated book I picked up and read at the store the other day: check it out.
rules may not always apply. we let the situation be the boss around here.
also, Glenn Cooper has a new chapbook out, and you should go buy one now, if you know what's good for you. go here to purchase.

hooptedoodle...that's what a lot of modern writing contains. very little substance and a whole lot of crap.
good article. gonna have to go look for that new book. Elmore Leonard is a great writer, one of my favorite "light" reading authors. the guy can write dialogue better than most people speak it!
the little book is pretty cool, it's illustrated with some good ink/color drawings.
I find it most interesting that I've come to many of those realizations especially "no adverbs" and the use of "said" from experimentation with my own short stories and my dissatisfaction with the end result which led to figuring out why they didn't do what I wanted em to.
Thanks for the mention, Chris.
my pleasure, glenn; I look forward to getting that bad boy (gonna send the dough this week).
I know hosho bought it too...
