over the past 2 years I've received numerous SERIOUS requests/information on jobs, living conditions, expenses in TORONTO, from my brothers due south.
If they start drafting your children, I'd damn well clear out the basement and 2 extra rooms for anyone, another Vietnam would be a TRAVESTY. But the bigger shame would be the deaths of thousands (thousands more) Americans, all in the name of what...?

my god no question. and each day the war rhetoric is amped up, each day we are told that we've no choice, we must "stay the course," it is a disgusting state of affairs with no end in sight. it is the dream of the neocons to BREAK the govt here and PRIVATIZE everything for the sake of profit and ideology.

it is most disturbing. and we've already racked up 2500 dead, 55,000 wounded/amputated/paralyzed and an estimated 100,000 Iraqi dead (how many of them were just like you and I? jesus christ...).

"and it's a hard rain gonna fall..." Bobby Dylan.

thanks for the offer of a piece of safe canadien soil. this is a travesty indeed...

I was one of the "brothers" who asked theeffects for help in emigrating to Canada after Bush stole the election a second time. I came THIS CLOSE (fingers held a millimeter apart) to leaving. I completed the Canadian emigration survey (and passed) and even applied to a few jobs up there.

I sometimes wonder if I made the right choice in NOT leaving. There might come a time (very soon) where it'll be illegal to do so (or if not illegal, at least very difficult).

If only Canada weren't so damned cold. and so damned filled with Canadians. ;)

If I cuddle up close enough with the beaver in my igloo it's really not that cold!!!
:)
Honestly the crazy part is with all this GLOBAL WARMING the last 3 winters have been very decent... I played basketball in Toronto (yes, outside) last Christmas! Now that doesn't sound too cold... There are definite COLD spots in Canada, but T.O.'s not bad.
